About the Webinar
A key factor affecting friction in sheet metal forming is tool surface roughness. Traditionally, uniform surface roughness is assumed across all tools; however, actual tool surfaces may vary depending on the tool type, location, and polishing strategy. For example, the blankholder can have a different surface roughness than the punch. In addition, sharp tool radii can also have significantly different roughness values compared with flat tool sections. This webinar will focus on these nuances and demonstrate how automotive customers address these variations to improve correlation between simulation and reality.

In This Webinar, You Will Learn About
- Friction in sheet metal forming
- Effect of tool surface quality on friction
- Industrial application cases of managing evolving friction conditions
