About the Webinar
Inspection is being carried out to ensure that flawless products are shipped to customers. More than a hundred years ago, at the dawn of mass production, 100% product inspection was the approach that ensured this intent – Quality by Inspection. Statistical methods helped reduce the number of inspected products to make the task sustainable while ensuring Quality with a certain confidence.
But why must many products be inspected? Isn’t one enough?
Because production processes have inherent variability, products may look the same, but no two are ever truly identical. Variability is the enemy of quality – it exists and we can’t get rid of it. What we can do is understand variability, link cause to effect, and design processes to reduce its magnitude. That’s what Quality by Design is about – building quality within the process!
In this webinar, we address the theory of Process Variability, when and how it is assessed in stamping processes. What information we take from this study can help us make decisions about design preferences or modifications that lead to improvements.
In This Webinar, We Will Cover
- Process Variability – definition and causes
- Variability quantification and automotive requirements
- The implementation of the Quality by Design methodology
Who Should Join
The topic of this webinar best suits quality managers, quality engineers (internal or suppliers), but also stamping process engineers, as their tasks and activities heavily affect the quality and performance of the processes they design.
